Turkey&Beef Kefta Kabob in Tahini

This is our best go-to comfort food, especially in the winter time! Savory, nutty and meaty   all in one! There is so much flavor going on in this recipe that I can’t explain but I strongly encourage anyone that comes across this recipe to give it a try. I promise you will not regret it. Here we go:


In a large glass bowl, add in 5 oz of ground beef and 5 oz of ground turkey. Season with 1 tbsp of each of the following; cumin, allspice, nutmeg, salt and paprika. Also add in 2 tsp of black pepper and 2 tbsp of olive oil.

Then, in a blender, make sofrito by adding in 1/2 bunch of italian parsley, 1 large yellow onion, 4 garlic cloves, 2 baby red peppers and 1 small Serrano pepper or half a jalapeño(optional). Blend and add into meat.


Mix and combine everything all together.

After everything comes together, grab 1 large tbsp of meat and shape into kebab. Place it in a large pot. Continue until you’ve done all the meat.


Turn on heat to medium-high and brown each side. While waiting for meat to brown, peel 2 medium-sized potatoes and cut into medium cubes. After both sides have browned, throw in the potatoes and add 1 1/4 cup of hot water and bring to a boil until it’s cooked about halfway, then turn it down to low.


For the Tahini Yogurt:


In a blender, add in the juice of 2 lemons (or 1/2 if you don’t like sour), 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of tahini, 3 garlic cloves, 1 cup of plain yogurt and 3 tsp salt. Blend very, very well. Pour this mixture into the pot with the meat once the meat is more than halfway cooked. Cook altogether for about 10 minutes and it’s ready!

Best served with rice! Enjoy!
